The trademark of the World Hapkido
Association symbolizes the nature of each particular force in the universe.
The two interesting angles, figures like thumb and finger,
symbolize the freedom of the individual to choose a gentle or tough method of
defence or offence. Hapkido is a multi-faceted art which offers appropriate self-defence
to people of different sexes and dimensions. Hapkido techniques are classed as gentle
and tough. The gentle techniques include falls, handholds, joint locks, throws and
immobilizations. The tough techniques, hand and foot kicks.
George Syrigos learnt Pal Hapkido for the first time, when he was nine from MASTER THOMAS LOK. He was a student of GrandMaster Jin Pal Kim for 2 years, before returning to Greece and spreading ÇAPKIDO. Today George Syrigos has 3rd Dan Black Belt in Hapkido and he is the Chief Instructor for Greece. In Northern Greece, Hapkido started in 1996 by Stylianos Panousis (5th Dan TAEKWONDO). |
