Martial Arts
Initially, the object of Martial Arts was self-defence and the preservation of life. Today, these needs continue to exist but do not constitute any longer the primary reason why a man, woman or child would busy themselves with them.
Training in Martial Arts imparts many benefits to the trainee, both corporal and spiritual.
Through systematic practice in the Martial Arts a person's physical fitness is boosted (strength, stamina, flexibility, movement coordination, etc.,) as the whole body is exercised and the whole muscular system is activated. In connection with the learning of correct breathing and an improved and wholesome diet, we have an effective way of fighting many problems and diseases of contemporary society and sedentary life, and, generally, of a weakened immunity system.
With the right training, the trainee becomes capable of defending himself, his fellow man and society in general, applying, of course, their knowledge justly and never without a reason. Self-control, determination and concentration characterize the trainee, who always reacts productively and without stress when the circumstances demand it. Self-defence, then, and strong self-control.
Through training, each of us gets to know themselves and their capabilitites better as well as their sense of respect and right.
Moreover, martial sports provide the opportunity of participating in friendly tournament matches and championships, thus promoting the right competitive behavior (athletic spirit).
In children, Martial Arts offer the right edification by passing positive messages
to the subconscious of the children as the child develops an internal discipline and
acquires certain models in his life.
